Reference standards: scope and HPS compliance

HPS hydraulic cylinder production is carried out within the scope of 9 international standards. The purpose, scope and the way each standard is applied within HPS are listed in detail below.

ISO 10100

Hydraulic fluid power - Cylinders - Acceptance tests

Scope: Hydraulic cylinder acceptance test standard. Defines the seal + static pressure test procedure at 1.5 times the nominal pressure.

HPS application: All production cylinders are tested per the ISO 10100 acceptance test procedure. The test report is provided with the shipment on request.

Hydraulic fluid power - Fatigue pressure testing of metal pressure-containing envelopes - Part 1: Test method

Scope: It defines the fatigue pressure test method for metal pressure-containing envelopes of hydraulic fluid power components. It establishes the test procedure for life verification under cyclic pressure; the rating of results is covered in ISO/TR 10771-2.

HPS application: Performed on request within a custom design or OEM approval process. Not applied on standard production cylinders, where the ISO 10100 acceptance test is sufficient.

Scope: General rules for hydraulic power system design + safety. Proof test, pressure limiting, seal safety requirements.

HPS application: Compliance with the ISO 4413 safety requirements is ensured during the design + production process.

Hydraulic fluid power - Mounting dimensions for single rod cylinders - 16 MPa series - Part 2: Compact series

Scope: Single-rod tie-rod cylinder compact series mounting dimensions (MF1-MS7). 16 MPa nominal pressure.

HPS application: ISO 6020-2 dimensional compliance is ensured in the standard series: replacement cylinder compatibility.

Hydraulic fluid power - Mounting dimensions for single rod cylinders - 25 MPa series

Scope: Heavy-duty 25 MPa nominal pressure single-rod cylinder mounting dimensions.

HPS application: ISO 6022-compliant series for heavy industrial applications (press, heavy machinery).

DIN 2391 ST52

Seamless precision steel tubes - Technical delivery conditions

Scope: Cold drawn seamless steel tube: cylinder body raw material standard. ST52 (1.0580) steel grade.

HPS application: All standard cylinder bodies are supplied as certified DIN 2391 ST52 (BKS: cold-finished, stress-relief annealed) honed precision tube.

Steel tubes for precision applications - Seamless cold drawn tubes

Scope: Modern European equivalent of DIN 2391. E355 (1.0580) steel grade, precise dimensional + surface tolerance.

HPS application: Exactly equivalent to DIN 2391 ST52. Delivered with the EN 10305-1 reference for European customers.

Metallic products - Types of inspection documents

Scope: Material certificate type: manufacturer-signed mill test report (MTR), chemical composition + mechanical property report.

HPS application: Rod + body raw material is supplied with the EN 10204 3.1 certificate, kept for the traceability chain.

NFPA T3.6.7R

Hydraulic fluid power - Mounting dimensions for fluid power cylinders

Scope: US/Canada market mounting dimension standard. Similar to ISO 6020-2 but based on imperial units.

HPS application: NFPA T3.6.7R-compliant variant production for North American customers, on request.

Certificate hierarchy

Standard reference ≠ Certificate

Referencing a standard, for example "ISO 6020-2 dimensionally compliant", means that the cylinder is manufactured in that dimensional class. A documented third-party certificate (CE, ISO 9001) is a separate audit process.

Material standard

DIN 2391, EN 10305-1, EN 10204 3.1: raw material quality and certificate reference. Verified during the HPS procurement process.

Design + dimension standard

ISO 6020-2, ISO 6022, NFPA T3.6.7R: cylinder dimension + mounting compatibility reference. Compliant across the HPS standard series.

Test + safety standard

ISO 10100, ISO 10771-1, ISO 4413: acceptance test + fatigue test (cyclic pressure endurance) + safety. HPS applies the 10100 acceptance test on every cylinder.
