These values are typical production ranges. Any combination of bore, stroke, pressure and mounting type is custom-built to the customer's drawing or load profile. The seal brand is entirely the customer's choice; the requested brand is sourced and fitted.

Application

Typical use

Tipping semi-trailer

Lifting a heavy body to a high angle (single-acting).

Tractor & trailer

Tractor-trailer tipping system, semi-trailer applications.

Mining body

Open-pit truck body, heavy aggregate hauling.

Double-acting telescopic

Crane boom extension, waste compactor, controlled retract.

Standard

Reference standards

  • DIN 2391-2 / EN 10305-1 tube standard
  • Customer drawing / ISO 6022 reference (telescopic geometry per drawing)
  • ISO 10100 acceptance test (1.5× rated)
  • EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate

Standard titles are dimensional references; certificates are supplied per product on request.

Telescopic cylinder types

Single vs double-acting telescopic

Single-Acting Telescopic

Single port (base). Stages extend in sequence under hydraulic pressure; return by gravity or load. Simple build, fewer seals, fewer internal passages.

Dump truck, waste compactor, semi-trailer tipping

Double-Acting Telescopic

Each stage has a retraction piston face + base/rod-end porting. Extends and retracts under hydraulic pressure. More complex build: for applications where extend/retract control is critical. Significantly higher cost than single-acting telescopic due to added seals, retract piston faces and porting.

Crane boom, mobile platform outrigger, mining body

Hybrid (single/double-acting combination) variant on request, where retract force is needed over part of the stroke. Stage stop: impact managed by internal cushion + external stop ring.

HPS in-house line

Stage Tube Chrome Plating Line

HPS chrome line · telescopic stage tubes

Every stage tube of the telescopic cylinder is processed on HPS's own hard-chrome plating line (~30 µm typical thickness). Our in-house line means no subcontract lead time and quality control stays with us.
